he 1978 Corvette "Limited Edition" Pace Car had the world talking Corvette again. It's a great story and only one was built for each Chevrolet dealer. The Pace Car was the leader of the 33-car field at the 62nd Indianapolis 500 Race. This is your chance to own a piece of history.This fabulous car is a collectors dream. It's in mint condition with only 23K miles and all numbers match. From the mirror like t-tops to the floor mats and bumper-to-bumper, everything is original. The exterior is black & silver, the interior is silver leather. Even the 8-track player (complete with a selection of 1978 tapes) and clock work. The only thing that is not operational is the power antenna as the gear is broken. It can be raised manually. The car has been garage kept and has also had a cover on it since I purchased it in 1993 with 20,800 miles on it. The previous owner said it was never driven in the rain or snow and I have followed his example.

As you can see in the photographs, the "ORIGINAL" paint is in excellent condition as is the interior. The tires and wheels are also original and show very little wear. Under the hood, the "ORIGINAL" L48 high performance 350 engine looks brand new. The engine runs perfectly and the transmission shifts as it should. All of the power accessories also work. The glass t-tops are in perfect condition with no leaks or scratches. The original t-top storage cases are included and also in perfect condition.

The body does show some minor checking (spidering) along the seams as all older original Corvettes do. This shows that the car has never been patched or repainted. I have the original decals, window sticker and owner's manual which will be included with the car.

In 1998 I had the brakes totally redone using stainless steels callipers and the carburettor rebuilt by Performance Chevrolet's Corvette mechanic.

The car runs and drives great and the new owner will be very pleased with this excellent classic vehicle.
